One of the few big-time seniors still uncommitted, elite big man DeMarcus Cousins will be one to watch very closely in the coming weeks.

Cousins, of course, committed to UAB but didn't sign after the Blazers wouldn't modify his letter of intent in order to give him greater flexibility.

The fear on the part of UAB revolved around coach Mike Davis, and if Davis leaves UAB for one of the (likely many) open coaching positions, it's certainly possible that Cousins would follow him.

At this moment, however, his five leaders are Memphis, Kansas State, Washington, N.C. State and Rice. We'll see if that changes.

One writer -- very much of the LSU persuasion -- gives voice to the concern that Davis will take the Alabama job and that Cousins will join him thusly. Not an entirely implausible theory, when you get down to it.

You'll need to scroll down a bit, but here's the story:

At this point, Davis and Missouri coach Mike Anderson (formerly of UAB) are reportedly the preferred candidates to take over the Crimson Tide program.
