There is noteworthy cyber buzz about which Class of 2010 players will or will not sign during the fall signing period.

If you are Brandon Knight, Harrison Barnes, or a select few other elite prospects, the sensible course of action is to choose a school in the coming weeks, enjoy your senior season, and sign in the spring.

This is the smart move. Yes, some prospects may negotiate or may have an LOI (letter of intent) out under certain circumstances, but the KISS rule (keep it simple student-athlete) is by far the best approach.

I agree this is true for elite players, and this year we had a few who did opt for this route. But there's also an undercurrent of anxiety for these guys, so they end up wanting to end the process and formally link up just in case an injury or other act of God happens.
