Update6/11: Roper's reputation has improved tremendously in recent weeks, and he awarded an early summer pledge to Clemson. Event PerformancesTournament of Champions (5/11): For the losing South Carolinians, clearly a premier players is 6-1 Class of 2012 PG Jordan Roper from Irmo High. Roper is an extremely athletic lefty who runs the show, gets the ball to open teammates, consistently hits pull-up jumpers to beyond the arc, and plays very aggressive defense. Theres no doubt that Roper is a big-time talent. Chic-Fil-A Classic (12/09): Irmo guard Jordan Roper is a nice talent in the Class of 2012. The 5-11 sophomore is a WG/PG at this point, and he definitely plays the game with the mentality of a scorer. He uses good quickness to attack off the dribble and also to push tempo in transition, and the southpaw is capable of making some nice passes on the break. His jump shot definitely is a work in progress, however, and he must tighten up his dribble against pressure. He’s clearly a Division I prospect, possibly for the lower mid-major level.
