EYBL Los Angeles (5/11): At No. 42, Ricardo Gathers is too low in our 2012 rankings. A small BF at only 6-6, the Reserve (LA) Riverside star is a monster on the inside who jumps through and over whatever blocks his path to the hoop. His muscular physique begs the question of why he doesn’t apply himself toward the NFL, but then you watch him play and realize he’s more than a brute. Yes, he’s short, but he’s very tough and so explosive that he can rack up buckets in the paint. Meanwhile, he hits some jump hooks and face-up jumpers to 15 feet, so his game does involve some skill. He should make a run at the national top 30, at minimum.
