ROUNDUP: LOUISVILLE WRAPS UP 2003 CLASS

By Rob Harrington

September 3, 2002

Louisville fans are jumping for joy. The Cardinals, hot off their recent commitment from All-American candidate James Lang and earlier pledges from MI PG/WG Brandon Jenkins and KS JC BF Nouha Diakite, have landed blue-chip forward Nate Daniels.

Daniels, a 6-7 WF/BF at Broward (FL) CC, averaged 31 points, eight rebounds and two assists per game last season. Originally a signee with Fresno State, Daniels is a versatile slasher who can create off the bounce or hit long-range jumpers.

The Cardinals will now begin to focus on their top targets in the junior class.

Kelly, a 6-2 WG/PG from Dallas (TX) Carter, picked Tulsa over interest from Texas Christian, North Texas, Colorado State, UNC-Wilmington and others. ... Ekene Ibekwe reportedly will make an official visit to Maryland the weekend of September 14 and Kansas the weekend of October 11. Ibekwe also is strongly considering Southern Cal, Arizona and perhaps others. ...
