PAULUS TO BLUE DEVILS

By Jeff Goodman

September 2, 2003

He reminds some of Bobby Hurley and now Greg Paulus will have a chance to follow in the former Duke point guard's footsteps.

The 6-1, 175-pound Syracuse (NY) Christian Brothers two-sport star, who will quarterback the team in its season-opener Friday, chose the Blue Devils over Notre Dame at a news conference on Tuesday afternoon.

North Carolina, Xavier and Syracuse rounded up his final five.

Paulus averaged 24.5 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds as a junior and established himself as one of the top floor leaders in the country.

Paulus is not a flashy player by any means, but he's like an extension of the coach on the court and makes solid decisions. Paulus also is a dangerous three-point shooter and uses quick hands on defense to disrupt the opposition.
