By Jeff Goodman

January 10, 2003

Well, here we are, full swing into the prep season, and there's already been a large number of happenings -- on and off the court -- that have affected the rankings since our last poll.

Most notably, both Milford Academy (Conn.) and Love Christian (N.C.) closed their doors at the conclusion of the first semester. On the court, a few other teams dropped out of the poll after disappointing starts.

Take a look at all the movement in this week’s poll. If you have any suggestions of new teams, please send an e-mail.

Deng won the MVP at the NYC Boys Club Tournament and also at the GlaxoSmithKline Tourney. He also scored 31 points in the loss to St. Pat’s, but Villanueva was held to 11.
