DENNIS TO MEMPHIS

On the eve of the summer evaluation period, there are a handful of commitments to report. Memphis scored a commitment from talented TX WG Nolan Dennis, a talented shot-creator off the dribble who has been compared by some to Chris Douglas-Roberts.

While that comparison is patently unfair, Dennis definitely does have solid ability to score off the bounce, either finishing at the rim or getting to the foul line. What he doesn't do is as well is shoot from the perimeter, and for that reason he may not project as the McDonald's All-American he previously did. Regardless, he has high-major talent and should be a contributor for the strong Tigers program.

GATORS GET EARLY START

Florida reached into the Class of 2011 to pull a commitment from blue-chip FL PG/WG Austin Rivers, the son of Doc Rivers and at this early stage one of the 10 best rising sophomores to hit the national circuit.

Not surprisingly, Rivers is a very skilled and intelligent ball-handler, and he has shown already that he has a nose of taking big shots and using his size (6-3) to play either backcourt position.
