HUSKIES GET JUNIOR;
WHAT’S UP WITH ROSS

UConn certainly was disappointed not to beat Kentucky on primetime on Wednesday night, but the Huskies did garner a commitment from Maurice Harkless, a 6-7 junior WF/BF at Queens (NY) Forest Hills.

Harkless isn’t a huge national name but had established himself as a solid high-major prospect among Big East coaches, and he presently is battling back from an foot injury suffered a couple months ago. He had made multiple unofficial visits to campus prior to making his decision.

ROSS HAVING DOUBTS

According to a story at InsideMdSports, MD wing Terrence Ross may be reconsidering his pledge to Maryland.

Ross, who became the Terps’ first 2010 commit, did not sign in November, although that’s customary for Stu Vetter (Montrose Christian coach) prospects. The question, then, is what, if anything may happen to alter Ross’ plan to spend his college years in College Park.

Maryland is the second ACC program to deal with this kind of speculation this winter, as NC BF Luke Cothron committed but did not sign with N.C. State last month.
