KENDRICK DELIVERS PLEDGE TO TIGERSPrepStars.com staff
Memphis received its third elite pledge from a high school senior. The Tigers went down to Georgia to land GA wing Jelan Kendrick, a big-time scorer and significantly advanced ball-handler for a player at his position. When we watched Kendrick during the summer, he actually spent some time playing point guard. While point guard certainly isn’t his natural position, it’s a testament to his skill level that he can play it effectively at all. The Tigers now boast pledges from three national elites, also including wing Will Barton and hometown guard Joe Jackson. The Class of 2010 recruiting cycle has been a resounding success for first-year coach Josh Pastner, exceeding even the wildest expectations for what he could accomplish in his debut recruiting effort. Others who had made Kendrick’s list of finalists included Georgetown, Kentucky, Georgia, Oregon, Cincinnati and others. |
