WILDCATS GET THE NOD FROM NATYAZHKO

April 13, 2009

New Arizona coach Sean Miller didn't need long to reel in a top-100 recruit. The Wildcats have gained a pledge from Kyryl Natyazhko, a talented big man from the Ukraine who prepped at Bradenton (FL) IMG and chose U-A over Pittsburgh and Arizona State.

In our view, Natyazhko is one of the more underrated big men in the Class of 2009. He played head-up against Daniel Orton at last summer's Peach Jam, and if he'd had more exposure it's quite possible that he'd have landed in the national top 50.

At any rate, don't expect him to ride the pine next season at Arizona. The Wildcats are rebuilding, and Natyazhko's ability to score should enable him to earn heavy minutes as a freshman.
