LATHAM, OYEDEJI MAKE THEIR PICKS

June 11, 2009

After a brief lull in commitments, this week has picked up the pace. The latest majors included a pair of frontcourt prospects who rank among the national top 100. Starting at Xavier, 6-8 BF Jordan Latham re-committed to Xavier.

Latham had backed off the Musketeers in the wake of Sean Miller's departure for Arizona, but new XU boss was able to maintain the continuity and lure Latham back into the fold. A native of Baltimore, Latham is a solid performer who has legitimate college big forward height and actually plays taller than that because of his long arms.

He is expected to attend next week's NBA Top 100 Camp.

Meanwhile, and as expected, TX BF Tobi Oyedeji pledged to Texas A&M and gives the Aggies a top-75 prospect of their own from the Class of 2010 around whom to build in the future.

Oyedeji at this moment is not a tremendously skilled scorer, but he did show improvement along those lines in the spring. Additionally, he possesses a college-ready body and should bring an element of strength and toughness to the lineup.
