DAVIS CHOOSES WILDCATSRob Harrington
Kentucky has landed its third top-five commitment from the Class of 2011, getting the nod from elite IL C Anthony Davis, who chose the Wildcats over Ohio State, DePaul and numerous other major programs in the process. Davis burst onto the national scene in the spring and never looked back, improving at seemingly every event and now appearing to be potentially the top prospect in the senior class. We wrote about him extensively during the summer, and the sensational athlete will have the opportunity to become one of John Calipari’s next one-and-done studs. Of course, there’s no way to mention this recruitment without also discussing the Chicago Sun-Times report that the Davis family had requested six-dollars from other schools (UK getting implicated as well), and accordingly accusations have been batted back and forth between Davis, Kentucky and the newspaper. Regardless of all the nastiness, Davis to UK now gives the Wildcats their third blue-chip 2011 recruit, joining IN PG Marquis Teague and NJ WF Michael Gilchrist. |
