Michigan landed Trey Burke, a 5-11 PG at Columbus (OH) Northland who had a strong summer on the travel circuit. Formerly a Penn State commitment, Burke reopened in order to draw additional interest, and obviously the gambit paid off in terms of getting other high-major scholarship offers.

Burke is a good scorer and three-point shooter, and he should fit well into John Beilein’s system. He also had attracted offers from Cincinnati, Nebraska, Butler, Iowa and others.

ELSEWHERE. …

Florida picked up 2012 wing Michael Frazier, a 6-3 WG at Tampa (FL) Plant. …Former LSU recruit from the 2010 class K.C. Ross-Miller was not cleared for NCAA eligibility and now is headed to Florida International, likely as a partial qualifier. … UNLV picked up Karam Mashour for the 2010 class. The Israeli was very impressive in Las Vegas last month and was slotted to become a top-100 talent in the Class of 2011. …
