Christmas came early ... ah, that’s too easy. Suffice to say that the Syracuse Orange are extremely happy to have received a commitment from blue-chip PA C Rakeem Christmas, one of the nation’s best senior big men and a proven talent against the highest level of prep competition.

Team Final has been good to SU the past couple years, sending not only Christmas and fellow 2011 pledge Trevor Cooney but also incoming freshman Dion Waiters.

Christmas should be a terrific rebounder and rejector at the back of Jim Boeheim’s zone defense, and he also has developed a workable turnaround jump shot. He’s a certain McDonald’s All-American next spring.
