JOHNSON CHOOSES ‘ZONARob Harrington
Sean Miller is righting the ship quickly in Arizona. The Wildcats now have big-time AZ/NV combo guard Nick Johnson in the fold, one of the best wing scorers in the country and someone who enjoyed a big summer with the Oakland Soldiers this past July. Johnson’s game is somewhat unique from the standpoint that he doesn’t create a lot off the dribble but is an explosive leaper and shooter who hits even when contested. We’d like to see him develop a tighter handle and slashing game, but he doesn’t have to always go forward because his jump shot (though streaky) has three-point range. Johnson also has a solid frame and plenty of confidence, so he should be able to make the transition to college more easily than many. |
